Obituary of Susan M. Genesky

Susan M. Genesky, a resident of Beacon, entered into rest Sunday, May 29, 2016 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. She was 71. She was born on September 22, 1944 in Yonkers, NY to the late Frank and Mildred (Di Stefano) Capraro. She graduated from Gorton High School in Yonkers, NY and Berkley School of Business in White Plains, NY On November 10, 1965, she married Gary Genesky who predeceased her in 2014. Prior to her retirement, Susan worked as an office manager for several local businesses. She treasured time spent with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She liked to read and knit. Survivors include her children, Gina Parker and her husband, Jay of Poughkeepsie and Joseph Genesky and his wife, Cristina of Wappingers Falls; her brother, Buddy Capraro and his wife, Carol of Hopewell Junction; her sister-in-law, Lillian Capraro of Yonkers; her grandchildren, Gia Genesky, Alyssa Genesky, Larry Istvan, Jr. and his wife, Sara, Rachel Parker and Justin Parker; her great-grandson, Dean; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brother, Richard Capraro. Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 6 at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow at Wappingers Rural Cemetery, West Main Street in Wappingers Falls. Memorial donations in Susan's name may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
