Obituary of Anthony J. Carozza

Anthony J. Carozza, Jr., a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. He was 73. Son of the late Anthony and Rose Blose Carozza, Sr., he was born January 29, 1943 in Yonkers. He married the former Sherilyn Livermore on February 28, 1964. Mrs. Carozza survives at home in Wappingers Falls. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a corrections officer at Fishkill Correctional Facility and previously at Matteawan State Hospital and Green Haven. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Wappingers Falls. Most of all, he will be remembered for his love of his family, wife children and especially time spent with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife of fifty-two years, Sherilyn Carozza, he is survived by his children, Joseph Carozza and his wife, Luna of Milton and Sherry Carozza of Fishkill; his grandchildren, Amber D'Amico, Vincent Carozza, Nicholas Carozza, Rocco Carozza, Bella Carozza, Ella Genet and Lola Genet; his great-grandson, Chase Vito D'Amico; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Alfonse Carozza and sister, Christina Gasperini. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 13 at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls.
