Obituary of Ida Loretta Minunni

Ida Loretta Minunni (nee Diaz) passed away from natural causes on August 21, 2024. She was born September 4, 1935 in Manhattan, NY. Ida lived in many places throughout her life Staten Island, Beach Lake, PA, Brooksville, FL before moving to Wappingers Falls.

Ida enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, playing cards, bingo, going to the casino, senior center and especially spending time with her family and friends.

Ida graduated from Port Richmond High School in 1954. She worked as a school aide at PS 20 in Port Richmond until 1993. She was also PTA President for PS 19 and IS 27.

Ida is survived by her four sons, John (Claire), Robert (Linda), James (Isabel) and Ronald (Ali); eleven grandchildren,  Daniel, Diana (Matt), Catherine (Don), Jennifer (Darren), Jessica (Jonathan), Ashley (fiancé Erik), Ashley (Zach), Shannon (fiancé Cat) , Morgan (fiancé Chris) Anthony, Brianna ;seven great-grandchildren and a baby boy due in December of 2024, Benjamin, Olivia, Caedon, Natalie, Carlo, Justin and Sophia. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-four years, John in 2008.    

 Thank you to all the staff of Hudson Valley Hospice for exceptional care helping Ida through her Jorney.We would like to thank her aides Vinetta, Carleen and Tannika for taking wonderful care of Ida. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation.

Family and friends will gather on Sunday, August 25, 2024 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 26 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Wappingers Rural Cemetery, West Main Street in Wappingers Falls.
