Obituary of Carey Lynn Sherow

Carey Lynn Sherow, a resident of Hyde Park, entered into rest Monday, March 21, 2016 at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie. She was 32. Daughter of Josephine Ingels Sherow of Hyde Park and the late Thomas Sherow, Sr., she was born September 23, 1983 in Poughkeepsie. Carey attended Hyde Park Schools. She was a parishioner of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Poughkeepsie. She enjoyed watching television and was an avid wrestling fan. Carey liked arts and spent some of her free time coloring. She enjoyed the outdoors, shopping and playing lottery. She treasured time spent with her family and many friends. If you were down, Carey would brighten your day. She will be remembered as a happy-go-lucky person always with a smile on her face. In addition to her mother, Josephine Sherow, she is survived by her siblings, Sharon Sherow of Hyde Park, Thomas Sherow of Hyde Park, Charlene DuBois and her husband, Clifford of Poughkeepsie, Shari Sherow of Hyde Park, Cynthia Cimorelli of Poughkeepsie, Brian Sherow of Hyde Park, and Suzette Hyson and her husband, Bruddy of Poughkeepsie as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her father who preceded her in death in 1989, she was predeceased by her brother, Todd Sherow in 2003 and her niece, Serina Williams in 2014. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 25, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 26 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 161 Mansion Street in Poughkeepsie. Interment will follow in the family plot at Wappingers Rural Cemetery, West Main Street in Wappingers Falls.
