Obituary of Robert E. Seaboldt
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert E. (Bob) Seaboldt, 77, of Wappingers Falls, NY, on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at home, surrounded by his family. Bob was born in Peekskill, NY, on December 2, 1946, son of the late Edward I. and Priscilla O. (Hill) Seaboldt.
Bob was a 1965 graduate of Hendrick-Hudson High School, and a 1967 graduate of Albany Business College. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in July of 1967, and served in Viet Nam until his honorable discharge in July of 1969.
Bob joined IBM World Trade Corporation in White Plains, NY, in 1970, and worked as a Financial Analyst and later as a Program Manager in various locations. He left IBM in early 1993, and worked part time at Sabellico Greenhouses and Florist in Wappingers Falls, and then at the Lollipop Tree in Poughkeepsie, until his retirement in 2007.
Bob played the bass drum in the Continental Fife and Drum Corps in New Windsor, NY, and in several other Drum Corps in the area during his younger years, and performed in and received many awards during various competitions.
On August 31, 1974 he married the former Patricia Purdy at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Croton-on-Hudson, New York, and they made their home in Wappingers Falls. Together they had two sons, Edward and Andrew, and one grandson, Dylan.
Bob was active in his sons’ activities throughout the years, including Little League, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He served as a Boy Scout Leader for many years, and participated in many outings and trips with the boys.
Bob’s memory will live on through his wife Patti, at home, his sons Edward of Wappingers Falls and Andrew of LaGrangeville, his grandson Dylan of Fishkill, and Dylan’s little sister Ellie Mae, his Honorary Granddaughter, not related by blood but most surely connected by Love. He will also be remembered by his aunt, Doris Conklin of Norwich, NY, by his sister, Darlene See and her husband Ray, of Peekskill, NY, and by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins, and friends.
Calling hours will be held from 4 - 7 pm on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Bob’s memory to Hudson Valley Hospice or to a charity of your choice.
