Mary Eddy, 73, of Wappingers Falls passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.

She was born in Omaha, Nebraska on October 15, 1949, daughter of the late James Richard and Ruth Irene McKain. She grew up in Omaha and married Roger Eddy on August 10, 1968. After briefly living in Germany and in the Chicago area, Mary and Roger settled in Wappingers Falls in 1974.

Mary is survived by Roger, her husband of 54 years, as well as her brother Charles McKain of Seattle, WA; daughter Michelle Malkischer of Millbrook, NY; son Kurt Eddy and his wife Jennifer of Cave Creek, AZ; five grandchildren, Zachary, Emily, and Julia Malkischer, and Brynne and Garrett Eddy; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother James McKain.

Mary worked for Vassar College for many years and eventually retired from her position in The Dean of the Faculty Office in 2014. She was an avid and competitive bridge player, both with friend groups and in tournaments. She loved to entertain and was known for making delicious appetizers or as she called them, ‘the meal before the meal’. She was also a Deacon and long-time faithful member of New Hackensack Reformed Church, where she enjoyed playing in the handbell choir for many years.
