Obituary of Girish M. Shah

Girishbhai Manilal Shah, a resident of Poughkeepsie, left this world on Thursday, January 21, 2016. He passed away at home after a long hard battle with Stage IV stomach cancer. Mr. Girish Shah was born on July 29, 1953 to Manilal and Shardaben Shah in Ahmedabad, India. He owned and operated Midtown Dollar and Food Store in Kingston for many years. Girishbhai's charisma, generosity, and compassion drew many friends near him. He fought many battles successfully through his life and left this world on a positive note with no regrets. He leaves behind a loving family that will carry on his traditions of giving back to the community. He is survived by his wife, Shobhana Shah, his sons and daughters-in-law Rugesh & Heli, Saumil & Radhika, and Nilay & Radhika, and granddaughter Navya Shah. He's also survived by his mother Shardaben Shah, brother & sister-in-law Pankaj & Kinna Shah. Funeral services were held on Friday, January 22, 2016 with cremation following at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
