I only knew Kassie for less than a year at Democracy Prep when she was the dance teacher. Together, she taught me how to make magic during her shows as I worked the light board while she had 1st graders tear up Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation. She was fierce, bold, and uncompromising in her vision of what the human body and soul can accomplish. As a testament of her brilliance, she volunteered to choreograph my first dance with my wife. I included a picture that hopefully captured the magic of her soul. The world won't be the same without you Kassie.

I looked forward to weekends at Auntie Rhonda's house when I was younger because that meant I would get to hang out with Kassie. She had no problem babysitting me. She loved it! She always made me feel welcome and never like an annoying kid taking up her space.
Sometimes she would even come in the living room and watch Rugrats with me! It was never, "this is my house and you're going to watch what I want." 7 year old me appreciated that more than she could ever know.
Kassie was patient, kind hearted, and full of life. From my first memory of her, she was that way and I can honestly say that the last time I saw her (in the pic below), she didn't change one bit.
I love you Kassie. Thank you for being such an important part of my development years and teaching me all about kindness and love. Rest in peace cousin, I will miss you.

Kassie, you were such a bright light in this world.
You taught our kids to believe in themselves and showed them they could do anything they put their minds to. You gave them confidence and belonging and inspired them in ways that will affect them for the rest of their lives.
As your colleague, I was constantly in awe of your passion and dedication. I remember how you would need time to rest on the days after the magical shows you produced and led... you literally gave our kids and community your ALL. I talk about what you created as evidence of what is possible all the time. I show people the videos of the performances you choreographed and taught and sweat over for months as evidence of what kids can accomplish when their teacher believes in them like you did.
I am devastated that our world has lost you. I hope only for the peace you deserve. I know you'll live on in all of our kids' successes, in every time they hold their heads up high. Thank you for being an incredible teacher, teammate, and human being. You are so loved and that will never change.

The joy of our hearts has ceased. Our dance has turned into mourning.

Kassie laid her crown at the feet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and He is rejoicing over her with singing.

Kaslyn E. Harris Jordan had a treasure-her love of dance and a conviction to share messages that empowered and uplifted her dancers. Though gentle and kind, her power was embodied in every finished line of her dancers’ bodies from fingers to toes. She was exacting and polished, with a soul as deep as abundant earth, springing up with renewed energy for her lifelong mission of teaching academic and artistic content to create not just dancers but world-changers. I am grateful to have experienced Kaslyn’s grace. Her love was generous and joy was a necessary element in her dance teaching and in life. This combination of love and joy will continue to inspire her fellow dance friends, colleagues and students. Although she will be greatly missed, she undoubtedly left behind a remarkable and enduring legacy that will live on through the lives and dances of those whom she graced with her gentle, yet powerful spirit.

Kassie was a dedicated, valued member of God's Battalion of Prayer Dance Ministry for many years. We were always inspired by her strength, determination, wit, creativity and love for the Lord. She will be greatly missed. ~ Anne-lys Patton
Kassie was not only in the dance ministry, but she was also involved in the children's choir and children's ministry as well. She cared, she loved she had a passion for people and she left an impact on everyone she met. Her love for dance was so contagious that she couldn't help but inspire, motivate, and teach all who was around her. We all have had many personal experiences with our dance partner and friend Kassie, experiences that we will never forget. When she knew what she was meant to do on this earth, she went full speed ahead never looking back. ~Keisha Arokium
Kaslyn’s life was such a bright spark. Indeed her stature could mislead to magnitude of how she filled any space with magnificence and creative excellence.
Her passion, her purposefulness, her pursuit of her Abba Father was remarkable. I watched her dynamic academic pursuit. I marveled at her intention imagery through dance that painted beautiful pictures of her intimacy with God. I listened to her value for God’s word to her. I rejoiced at her victory over life’s challenges-for she was an overcomer indeed.
I credit my passionate pursuit of dance to her. Now I smile in reflection of the dance she will display before her eternal Maker. We love you Kaslyn and our lives have truly been changed because of the fight, the faith, the fabulous life you lived here on earth. To think of Kaslyn and to not think strength, determination, tenacity, (to name a few) for me is not to think of her at all. Her love for dance and her insatiable hunger to grow in her knowledge and experience of the art form was both inspiring and noteworthy. Yet in her pursuit she was always encouraging and supporting others who were on similar journeys. She served faithfully and joyfully in the dance ministry. Though diminutive in stature, her larger than life presence of who she is will live on not only through her choreographies but in all our memories.

Twenty short years ago this beautiful angel was celebrating me at my bridal shower and danced angelically at my wedding. She was beautiful inside and out. Sometimes we don’t recognize when an angel visits us until after they leave. Sometimes we say gone too soon, without realizing that their work was actually finished. She answered the call and ministered to many lives. She was strong and passionate about her ministry. I often wondered how she danced with so much energy, passion, and grace even when her body was in pain. But she did it to help us not to make excuses and walk in our calling. Thank you Jesus for sending your angel.

Until I receive the obituary, I wanted to be a big-time liar, because I did not want to believe it was real. This is hitting me harder than I anticipated. Now speaking to people who knew her also can’t believe this is real and hearing what I already knew her love for dance and working with children teenagers and adults - expressing her heart through dance was so evident. Kassie was a quiet soul, but a powerhouse on stage. Kassie always gave and gave and gave knowing that her time was limited so she always gave her all and not letting people know how ill or how much pain she was in. I knew some of the behind-the-scenes and my kids and I always supported her whatever way possible and she knew she could count on me. She did so much things that I don’t even know half the things that she did but she kept very very busy until she couldn’t. I still believed she had many more years to go because she fought so much to remain alive actively. I will always thank God cause she was the one person that gave me calmness when I was chaotic. Forever in my heart… My Dancing Queen… Always Dare 2 Dance!!
