Obituary of Dorothy I. Pardee

Dorothy I. Pardee, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Elant at Wappingers Falls. She was 90. Daughter of the late Anthony and Regina Santsaver Messerich, she was born September 21, 1925 in Fishkill. On August 7, 1947 she married Edward C. "Zip" Pardee at Zion Episcopal Church. Mr. Pardee preceded her in death on October 8, 1994. Dorothy was a member of Zion Episcopal Church in Wappingers Falls. She was a prolific oil painter and enjoyed gardening. Dorothy enjoyed being a grandmother and often watched her grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Kenneth Pardee and his wife, Sheila of Leesburg, Florida, Karen Kussel of Wappingers Falls, Michael Pardee and his wife, Patricia of Hopewell Junction and Tammy Pardee of Wappingers Falls; her grandchildren, Michelle Halpin, Karlee Kussel, Shawn Kussel, David Oakley and Matthew Doyle; her great-grandchildren, Blaine Halpin and Emma Halpin, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Robert, Donald and Harold Messerich. Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will be held at 5:30 p.m. during the visitation.
