Obituary of Valerie Musmeci

Valerie Musmeci, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 69. Daughter of the late Paul and Josephine Britton, she was born June 26, 1946 in Mount Vernon. On June 12, 1965, she married the love of her life, Daniel Musmeci in the Bronx. Mr. Musmeci survives at home in Wappingers Falls. Valerie worked for Chase Media Group in Wappingers Falls. She enjoyed reading and working on crossword puzzles. Most importantly she treasured time spent with family, especially her granddaughters. In addition to her husband of fifty years, Daniel Musmeci, she is survived by her son, Louis Musmeci and his wife, Candace of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; her daughter, Kelly Musmeci of Poughkeepsie; her granddaughters, Summer and Brooke Musmeci and Jordyn Herder; her brother-in-law, Charles Musmeci; her sister-in-law, Josephine Musmeci; as well as several cousins. Family will receive friends on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Fishkill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
