Obituary of Rosalie J. Lewis

Rose "Rosalie" passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday May 25 2022 in Poughkeepsie, NY.

She was born in 1924 as Rose Josephine Carbonaro in Thompsonville CT to Joseph and Angelina Carbonaro, she was 1 of 9 children.

In 1943 she married Michael Lewis who predeceased her in 2002.  She traveled as a war bride across the country while Mike was in the Army. They lived their life traveling and dancing, as well as, always cooking and entertaining at their homes in the Bronx, Long Island and Florida.

At age 75 she retired from Professional Mortuary Supply as a bookkeeper and co-owner of Chester A. Fulton Funeral Home in Freeport, NY.

Two sons predeceased her, Robert Lewis and Lt. Michael L. Lewis, Jr. She is survived by her children Roberta Soranno of Wappingers Falls and Nicholas Lewis Sr of Melbourne, FL in addition to 5 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren, as well as, a brother Alfred Carbonaro and his wife Geraldine of Yonkers, her brother-in-law's Guy Giacobbe of Florida, Vincent Liggio of Poughkeepsie, and sister-in-law Lydia Carbonaro of Albany; including more than 30 nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at St. Martin de Porres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Road in Poughkeepsie.
