Obituary of Thomas A. Martinez

Thomas A. Martinez, known to many as "Uncle Tom" and "Mr. Tom", age 53, passed away on November 8, 2021, at his home in Wappingers Falls.
Son of the late Anthony and Suzanne Martinez, he was born December 8, 1967 in the Bronx. He graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School and went on to graduate from Northeastern University with a bachelor's degree in accounting.
Tom owned and operated his carpentry business, TomCo Carpentry, where he helped bring many home projects to life for local residents. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and helping others. He also enjoyed tending to his garden and spending time outdoors. He was an animal lover and a dear friend to many.
Survivors include his sister, Patricia Saraceno and her husband, Donato; his niece, Stacey Khatskelevich, her husband, Lawrence, and their son and daughter, Bradley and Ava; his nephew, Daniel Saraceno; and his niece, Megan Saraceno.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Norman.
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 2 to 6 pm at Straub, Catalano, and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Please join us to celebrate Tom's life.
