Obituary of Jonathan M. Samperi

Jonathan M. Samperi, a resident of Poughkeepsie, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie at the young age of 38.

Son of Peter Samperi and the late Linda Samperi of Wappingers Falls. He was born June 23, 1983 in the Bronx. He married the former Lina Liggieri on January 25, 2020.

Jonathan was a Local 806 Union bridge painter with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, a job he truly loved. He enjoyed home improvements and bettering life for his family. He was known to always be helping family and friends any chance he had and he treasured the time spent with them all. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, adoring father, cherished son, and loyal brother and friend.

In addition to his father Peter Samperi of Wappingers Falls and his wife, Lina Samperi of Poughkeepsie, he is survived by his children, Jakai, Kailey, Jonathan and Mario; his brothers, Peter Samperi and Christopher Samperi; his sister, Kristin Barbaria and her husband, Nicholas Barbaria; his nieces and nephews, Gabriella, Grayden, Nicholas, Briella, Sofia, Joshua and Alexander; his father-in-law, Mario Liggieri; his mother-in-law, Kim Carroll; as well as numerous other family and friends.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 9 at St. Mary’s Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in Wappingers Rural Cemetery, West Main Street in Wappingers Falls.
