Obituary of Josephine Sherow

Josephine L. Sherow of Hyde Park entered into rest Sunday, June 27, 2021 at home, surrounded by her family. She was 82.

Daughter of the late Charles and Katherine Ingles, she was born on August 1, 1938 in Newburgh. She was married to Thomas Sherow, Sr., who preceded her in death passing on April 21, 1989.

Josephine held many positions over the years, spending 17 years as a school crossing guard for the City of Poughkeepsie. Her greatest love in life was her family and she especially loved her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Sharon Sherow, Thomas Sherow, Charlene DuBois and her husband, Clifford, Shari Sherow, Cynthia Cimorelli and Suzette Hyson and her husband, Bill; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sons, Todd Sherow and Brian Sherow; her daughter, Carey Sherow; brother, William Ingles; and sister, Katherine Ingles.

Family will receive their friends on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Wappingers Rural Cemetery, West Main Street in Wappingers Falls.
