Obituary of Janet A. Cassard

Janet Ann Cassard, 72, of the Town of Pougkeepsie, passed away peacefully and went home to the Lord on May 29, 2021.

Daughter of the late Douglas and Joan Reynolds, she was born September 6, 1948 in Cold Spring, NY and graduated from Roy C.Ketcham High School.

One of her greatest joys was engaging with people; she truly found the good in every single person she met. Janet genuinely enjoyed spending time with family and friends and interacting with her coworkers and customers at Stop & Shop for over 20 years. She was an avid reader and had a wonderful sense of humor. Janet was also a lifelong lover of all animals, especially dogs.

Janet is survived by her devoted and loving husband Jeffrey Cassard of the Town of Poughkeepsie; her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Paul Harrison of Pleasant Valley; her daughter, Jennifer Rubino of Hartford, CT; her daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Michael Kent of Pleasant Valley; and her daughter and son-in-law, Tricia and Jeff Mool of Berkeley, CA.

Additionally, she leaves behind 6 grandchildren: Brandon, Tyler, Remi, Anthony, Sal and Gabby; her nieces, Renee and Bonnie; nephew, Doug; as well as many beloved cousins, mother-in-law, sisters and brother-in-law and grand nieces and nephews.

Family will receive their friends on Friday, June 4, 2021 from 4 to 8pm at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 10:30 am at Faith Assembly of God, 25 Golf Club Lane, Poughkeepsie, NY. Interment will follow in Wappingers Rural Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
