I learned sadly today of Vic’s passing. Our paths had crossed over the years as he lives in the community across the street.
Always enjoyable to meet up and share a conversation about life and the craziness of it all. I always admired Vic’s service with the Rombout Fire Company. Numerous times around the area at the scene of a fire or vehicle accident Vic was there. Giving his time along with others to help people they never knew. Community Service at it highest level.
Then back in September 2019 it was me who was in need of help. Having been struck by a car I found myself broken up lying in the roadway. Badly injured I needed help. That help arrived. One of those who came when I needed help was Vic. I learned later it was Vic who directed the responding vehicles to my location making possible their quick and safe response.
I spent 5 months away from home recovering. Vic called several times sending his best. After returning home one day out in my car Vic pulls up. It was good to see an old familiar face. Something that made me feel like I had made it back. We spoke for several minutes trying to ask and answer as many questions as possible on the side of a roadway. Time to go, we parted ways promising at some point we would get together to catch up discuss the most recent craziness life had brought us. I am sorry now we will never have that opportunity. Vic was a gentleman in my view.
My deepest condolences go out to Vic’s wife, family, friends and fellow members of the Rombout Fire Company. Thank you Vic for the opportunity of getting to know you, for all you did over the years for the community, and for what you did for me when I needed help most. Rest In Peace.... You will be missed.

Thank you for your beautiful tribute to Vic. We never formally met but Vic would always tell me he had chatted with you. I remember your terrible accident and how upset Vic was that day. God Bless you and I wish you continued good health. Sincerely. Christene Landi
