Obituary of Ida Repke

LIVE, LOVE, LAUGH Ida Repke, 94, beautiful and loving wife, mother and grandmother, was called to heaven to join her loving husband Joseph, on January 6, 2021. Born on August 9, 1926, Ida is survived by her two daughters (her “Gems”), Janice and her husband Ed and Sandy and her husband Bob. She is also survived by her four grandchildren whom she loved and cherished so deeply—Lauren and her husband Jason, Michael and his fiancé, Hilda, Erica and her husband Jon, and Jaclyn. Ida is the youngest of 5 siblings, all in heaven. To know Ida is to love Ida. She had a heart of gold. She was a petite woman whose robust personality was larger than life. LIVE, LOVE, LAUGH definitely describes Ida’s life. Her presence was known whenever she stepped in the room or wherever she traveled, as she surely touched the hearts of those around her. She was the life of the party; her positive outlook and high energy kept her on top of the world. Ida, Sweet as Apple Cider, left an everlasting impression on all who knew her. Her distinct voice and lively presence will be so deeply missed, but the memories we have of her will remain deep in the hearts of so many. A special “thank you” to the Pines of Poughkeepsie Nursing Home for their undivided love and support during Ida’s stay. Another special “thank you” to Hudson Valley Hospice for their loving, committed service. Family will receive their friends on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will be held following visitation at 1 p.m. at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9 in Fishkill. Entombment will follow.
