Obituary of Richard Segal
Richard Segal, a resident of Pleasant Valley, entered into rest Saturday, March 22, 2014 at his home after a long illness. He was 62.
Son of the late Joseph and Justine Brownstone Segal, he was born September 18, 1951 in Newton, Massachusetts. He married the love of his life, the former Susan L. Goeller on February 14, 1981 at St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. Mrs. Segal survives at home.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as an architect and contractor specializing in commercial roofing systems for twenty-five years. In his free time, Richard enjoyed woodworking.
In addition to his wife, Sue, he is survived by his children, Benjamin Segal and his wife, Jennifer and their daughter, Natalie of Hyde Park, Kimberly Potter and her husband, Brett of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Dan Segal of New Hampshire and Dusty Segal of Massachusetts; his mother-in-law, Janet Goeller; his sisters, Arlyse Levick and Marlene Erickson; his sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews; as well as his dog, Heidi.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 27 at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Wappingers Falls.
