I remember Mrs. Romano from Myers Corners School as a dedicated and exceptional 1st grade teacher. She was a great role model for all of us new teachers and I recall a funny story that she told in the teacher's lounge....her husband stopped by her classroom and one of the children said, "Mrs. Romano, your DADDY is here!!" She retold that story with glee!!!
Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of this lovely lady and amazing primary teacher.

Dear Romano Family,
I am so sorry to read of the passing of Anna Marie. Marie took me under her wing as her very first student teacher at Fishkill Plains School. She taught me more than I ever learned in college. We taught together at Myers Corners School and have kept in touch, (although not enough) with lunches and memories shared over the years. I will never forget Marie and I will miss our phone chats and lunches. What a wonderful lady!
My prayers are with you all for comfort and peace at this difficult time. I hope to meet you tomorrow.

I taught with Marie for many years. She was one of a kind. My daughter Stacey was in her class and always talked about Mrs. Romano. We were so pleased to have known Marie and know she will be missed by many.

I was so saddened to learn of Marie's passing. I had the privilege to work with Marie for many years at Myers Corners.I was always impressed by her warmth and dedication to her students. She carried that warmth into her friendships. I spent many hours talking with her.She shared memories, insights and humor with such charm. She was always available to help younger teachers solve problems and guide them through the pitfalls of educating students in a confusing world. Her calming personality and humane behaviors were memorable. She loved people and life. She will be missed. May her memory sustain you as you go through this difficult time. Hers was a life well lived.
