Obituary of Dorothy Veronica "Dot" Murphy
Dorothy Veronica “Dot” Murphy, died peacefully at home on December 27, 2018 in Wappingers Falls. She was 80.Dot was born August 7, 1938 in New York City to the late James and Katherine Scheid. She graduated from St. Jean Baptiste High School in New York City.
After moving to Poughkeepsie, Dot raised her two sons in Spackenkill. She enjoyed sharing her love of fishing and camping with her children. Dot spent many summers with her family at Sylvan Lake. Dot was passionate about spending time with her cats. She was a collector of Elvis memorabilia and enjoyed playing “Blue Hawaii” throughout the day. She was a generous and kind individual who loved her many friends.
Survivors include her sons, Bryan Murphy and his wife, Heidi of Wappingers Falls and their son, Griffin and Michael Murphy and his wife, Diane of Largo, Florida and their sons, Matthew, Robert and Thomas.
A memorial mass will be held at the convenience and discretion of the family.
