Obituary of Joy Ann Verona Allen Matos
Joy Ann Verona Allen Matos, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at The Grand at River Valley in Poughkeepsie. She was 70.
Daughter of the late Cary D. and Verona Hummel Allen, she was born December 14, 1947 in Manhattan. On June 18, 1977 at the Reformed Church of Bronxville, she married Michael A. Matos. Mr. Matos preceded her in death on June 23, 2012.
Prior to having children, Joy worked as an administrative assistant in Westchester County. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Joy loved writing cards, sharing a personal message with friends and family. Most importantly, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and especially as a devoted grandmother.
Survivors include her daughters, Maya E. Giuliano and her husband, Savino of Wappingers Falls and Amy C. Matos of Wappingers Falls; her grandchildren, Luca Franco and Lilia Joy Giuliano and Dylan Michael Matos; and her brother, Cary D. Allen, Jr.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, John H. Allen.
