Obituary of Nicholas DeRasmo

Nicholas DeRasmo, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.

Son of the late Dominick and Grace Peragine DeRasmo, he was born January 25, 1929 in Jamaica, Queens. He married the former Carmella Bonnona on January 25, 1951 in East New York, Brooklyn. Mrs. DeRasmo preceded him in death on April 4, 2006. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a cutter in the garment industry. Nicholas was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls. He was a fan of the Mets and the Jets.

Survivors include his children, Dominick DeRasmo and his wife, Susan of Deltona, Florida, Grace Vistero and her husband, Michael of Beacon, and Thomas DeRasmo and his significant other, Colleen Cassidy of Poughkeepsie; his sisters, Clara Abbatiello and Catherine Paradiso; his grandchildren, Dominick DeRasmo, Jr. (Stephanie), Michael DeRasmo, Cassandra Hinds (Jason), Michael Viserto, Jr., Anthony DeRasmo, and Thomas DeRasmo; his great-grandchildren, Mckenna, Logan, Hunter, Ryker, and Briar Rose.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brothers, Salvatore and Mauro DeRasmo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at St. Mary’s Church, 11 Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls.
