Obituary of Anna K. Marcelli

Anna K. Marcelli of Wappingers Falls entered into rest on Saturday, July 21, 2018. She was 90.

Daughter of the late Louis and Virginia Fusilo Kaiser, she was born on January 1, 1928 in Naples, Italy. She married the love of her life, Joseph A. Marcelli, on November 17, 1945 in Naples at The Church of Gesù Nuovo. Mr. Marcelli preceded her in death, passing on June 27, 2006.

Mrs. Marcelli spent her years making a warm and loving home for her husband and four children. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, shopping and going out to dinner. She especially loved the ocean and going to the beach. Anna loved time spent with her family, especially with her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also a member of St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls.

Survivors include her children, Joann Emma of Myrtle Beach, SC, Frances Rice and her husband, Patrick of Fishkill, Joseph Marcelli and his wife, Dinah of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Anthony Marcelli and his wife, Doreen of Wappingers Falls; grandchildren, Todd Emma, Amanda Locklear (Gaston), Miranda Vitalano (Louis), Wayne Marcelli, and Alicia Molloy (Joe); great-grandchildren, Miller, Kayleigh, Logan, James, Louis, Dominick, Silas, Jojo, and Brianna; Godson, Donnie Mazocki (Cathy); and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Robert Emma; parents-in-law, Peter and Frances Marcelli; and sisters-in-law and their husbands, Lydia and Anthony Pacio, and Viola and Ralph Anzivina.

The family would like to thank all the warm and caring staff at the Fishkill Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.

Family will receive their friends on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 11 Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Anna’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to American Leprosy Missions, 120 Broadus Ave, Greenville, SC 29601.
