From the first year in the Poughkeepsie area and for the seventeen years of community involvement, meeting and working with Ed Koziol was one of the great and best highlights of my experiences. Especially when community work brought Ed and I together in the many activities of the Dutchess Co. Interfaith Council, Ed's leadership, compassion, and motivation to have a positive impact on others was ever-present. His smile, personality and wonderful singing voice were contagious in causing all forms of good will to break out. He will always be special to Susan and me. I feel very blessed to spend our community participation together, from the CROP Walk, annual Thanksgiving Service and multiple annual meetings of DCIC. Susan and I send our deepest sympathies to Mary and family. I just learned of Ed's death on July 6. He will dearly be missed and forever loved! God's comforting peace to all of his family and friends.

I cannot stress enough that Ed Koziol was very well liked and a very kind man. I have known him when I first made my Cursillo Men's Retreat in 1996. Ed was one of the team members on my weekend. I have shared many Cursillo weekends through out the years and he sure has a lot of musical experience. I extend my deepest condolences to his wife Mary Lou and the family and all those who were very close to him. May Ed Rest In Peace in his 5th Day.

Our dear Mary Lou and family
We carry this great loss with you and pray for you all. As you know we had a great love for Ed as he was always such a very responsive friend and we treasure every minute we spent with him [and you] in many and various occasions including visits to our community. It was a great gift to visit and talk with him in hospital a couple of weeks ago - something we will always remember with grateful hearts - a great encouragement to live the good life.

It was with great sadness I learned of Ed's passing.
It was Ed, along with Rudy Veltre, who first turned me on to church music ministry. From the 20-guitar 'folk masses' at St. Mary's in the early '70s, I went on to get a degree in music, and by the mid '90s my wife Leslie and I were directors of Liturgy, Music, and Worship, first in Rhinebeck, and later in Florida.
We retired from directorship five years ago, but still play and sing (a lot) on a volunteer basis -- and the wealth of wisdom and experience we pass on to younger musicians now reminds me of Ed's selfless willingness to help and encourage my art when I was much younger.
Ed has achieved eternal life -- truly, the reward of a lifetime of being a good and faithful servant. I know heaven will be better off with him there; me and everyone whose life he touched certainly know that was true when he was here among us.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord;
let perpetual light shine upon him;
may he rest in peace.
Sincerely,
Jonathan (Jon) and Leslie Selage

Dear Marylou and family,
Our deepest condolences for your lost of a great husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
We have all lost a great friend and a giant example of a Catholic Christian. Ed preached Jesus with his life and only used words when necessary.
May he rest in eternal peace in the arms of our loving and merciful Father, with Jesus, our Lord, and all the angels and Saints.

To the Koziol family.
I was honored to sing in the St. Mary's folk group with Ed as a teen, along with Joe Gutowski and Rudy Veltri. Their faith as well as the bell tones of their voices keep me singing that beautiful Catholic folk music to this day.
Ed also sang at my wedding and learned a new song just for my entrance into St. Mary's. It meant so much to my husband and I.
It was an honor and pleasure to know Ed and sing with him
