Obituary of Teresa M. Linacre

Teresa Marie Ensenbach Linacre passed peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at The Baptist Home in Rhinebeck, NY. Born in Freeport, Long Island on July 6, 1922, Terry attended the New Paltz Teacher's College and taught first and second graders for 36 years in Lexington, Kentucky and the Wappingers Central School District. She also taught at St. Mary's School in Wappingers Falls. She loved every one of her students. Terry was a parishioner at St. Mary's Parish where she served as president of the Altar Rosary Society; she was a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Queen of Peace; and a member of St. Mary's Parish Council. She volunteered in a variety of church functions, as well as in the St. Francis Hospital Gift Shop. She drew great comfort from her Church and her faith. Terry is survived by her three sons: Dr. Michael and Rosemary Linacre of Marietta, GA; Mr. Robert and Donna Linacre of Altoona, IA; and Dr. William and Mary Linacre of Poughkeepsie, NY. Terry was "Nana" to eight grandchildren: Scott, Allyson, Becky, Jeff, Greg, Katie, Krissy, and James. She was "Great Nana" to Raela, Liam, Henry, and Charlotte. Terry loved her God, her family, children, the sun, the beach, and the Mets. She loved Christmas, and some of her last words were, "Every day is Christmas time". Teresa loved deeply, sacrificed much, and stayed strong in her commitment to her God, her family, and her community. She is missed and loved. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
