Obituary of Alice E. Wilson

Alice E. Wilson, a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie, entered into rest Thursday, November 7, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie. She was 86. Daughter of the late Thomas and Mabel Woodin Petty, she was born March 23, 1927 in Sharon, Connecticut. She married Thomas Wilson who preceded her in death in August of 2000. Mrs. Wilson was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Poughkeepsie. She enjoyed bowling. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughter, Judith Smith of Waterbury, Connecticut; her son, Tom Wilson and his wife, Deborah of Hilton, New York; her son-in-law Dante DiStasio; her grandchildren, Douglas, Maureen, Timothy, Peter, Anthony, Rachel, Julia, Aimee and Erica; as well as her great-grandchildren, Jack, Ryan and Emily. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Karen DiStasio who passed away in December of 2011. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2013 at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the family plot in Wappingers Rural Cemetery, West Main Street, Wappingers Falls.
