Obituary of Nancy L. Weisel

Nancy L. Weisel, a resident of Port Ewen, entered into rest Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Health Alliance Hospital, Broadway Campus in Kingston. She was 55. Daughter of the late Vincent and Dymphina "Dinny" Krens Cackowski, she was born January 31, 1958 in Poughkeepsie. A graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie and Dutchess Community College, Nancy went on to own and operate Midnight Moose Beadworks in Kingston. On January 23, 1982 in Beacon, she married Scott D. Weisel. Mr. Weisel survives at home in Port Ewen. As well as her love of jewelry making and beadworking, Nancy was known for her sense of humor. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Robin Weisel of Port Ewen, her almost son, Shane O'Neill; her sisters, Joan Korducki and Jean Marie Cackowski-Campbell; and her brother, Stephen Cackowski. Family will receive their friends on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will then follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Avenue, Poughkeepsie. Memorial donations in Nancy's name may be made to Benedictine Health Foundation (please write Oncology Support in memo), 105 Mary's Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401.
