Obituary of Charles J. Blake
Charles J. Blake, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Saturday, September 14, 2013 at his home. He was 68.
Son of the late Robert and Nettie Blake, he was born April 13, 1945 in Manhattan. He proudly served his country during Vietnam in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged in 1964.
Prior to his retirement, Charles worked for the United States Postal Service in Beacon. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. He loved the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. He was also a car enthusiast and loved animals. Most important to him was his family; he truly treasured the time he spent with them.
He is survived by his children, Nicole Peterson of Hopewell Junction, Anthony Blake and his wife, Rachel of Beacon, and Adam Blake and his wife, Lauri of Wappingers Falls; his brothers, Robert and James Blake; his sister, Linda Blake; his beloved grandchildren, Alex, Ryan, Melanie, Donovan and Christian; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, John Blake.
Family will receive their friends on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18 at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
