Obituary of Mary D. Neumann

Mary D. (Kadien) Neumann, a ten year resident of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Monday, August 12, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 82. Daughter of the late Fredrick Hoffmann and Martha Lehecka Hoffmann Cunningham, she was born on January 10, 1931 in Queens. She was married to and predeceased by her husbands, Thomas C. Kadien and Charles F. Neumann. Mary was a member of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. Previously, she lived in Glen Head, Long Island and was a member of St. Boniface Martyr Church in Sea Cliff. She also belonged to the Wappingers Falls Senior Center, where she enjoyed bingo and playing Rummikub. Survivors include her children, Mary Johnston and her husband, Robert of Wappingers Falls, and Thomas Kadien and his wife, Sandra of Vista, CA; loving brother, Fredrick Hoffmann and his wife, Roseann; wonderful grandsons, Stephen and Daniel Johnston; her loving cousin, Joan Bergmann; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by her sister, Doris Hoffmann McFeeley. Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, August 16 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
