Obituary of Dominick DiChiaro

Dominick DiChiaro, a 16 year resident of Wappingers Falls and formerly of the Bronx, entered into rest Thursday, May 16, 2013 at home. He was 80. Son of the late Frank and Antoinette DiChiaro he was born on May 29, 1932 in the Bronx. He married the love of his life, Ann Nigro on August 27, 1955 at St. Valentine's Church in the Bronx; Mrs. DiChiaro survives at home in Wappingers Falls. Mr. DiChiaro was a self-employed carpenter. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking. He also was a car enthusiast, particularly "muscle" cars. Most important to him were his family, especially his grandchildren; he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his wife Ann of 58 years, he is survived by his daughter, Linda Autorino and her husband, Robert; brother, Dan DiChiaro; sisters-in-law, Catherine DiChiaro, Frances DiChiaro, Josephine DiChiaro and Margaret Nigro; grandchildren, Nicholas Vaccaro, Victoria Vaccaro, Melissa Autorino and Danielle Autorino; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Leo, Pete, Frank, Joe and Vito DiChiaro. Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, May 20 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls.
