Obituary of Patricia J. Flannigan

Patricia J. Flannigan, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Thursday, April 4, 2013 at her home. She was 80. Daughter of the late Francis and Julia Riley, she was born March 25, 1933 in Yonkers. She married Francis J. Flannigan on November 27, 1954 at St. Joseph's Church in Yonkers. Mr. Flannigan preceded her in death on January 20, 1996. Patricia was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary Mother of the Church in Fishkill. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid Yankee's fan. Her family knew to never to interrupt her while she was watching her favorite show, Jeopardy. Most importantly, she was a devoted wife and mother and doting grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Kathleen Powell and her husband, James of Pine Bush, and Robert Flannigan and his wife, Judith of Wappingers Falls; her son-in-law, David Grey of Tucson, Arizona; her grandchildren, John Casey, Kelly Hilgenfeldt and her husband, Jason, Kristen Casey, Jennifer Schafer and her husband, Jared, and Robert Flannigan, Jr.; her great-grandchildren, Ashley, Aylssa, Angela, Jason, Tyler, Jayden and Jayde; as well as her several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia "Tricia" Flannigan-Grey; her brother, Francis Riley; and her sisters, Margaret Monahan and Susan Hopper. Family will receive their friends on Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, April 8 at 12 noon at St. Mary Mother of the Church, Jackson Street in Fishkill. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Fishkill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Patricia's name to Hospice of Dutchess County, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
