Obituary of Nancy M. Ferrara

Nancy M. Ferrara of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina entered into rest Friday, March 8, 2013 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach. She was 67. Daughter of the late Vincent Simonetti and Mary Madrazo, she was born on August 8, 1945 in Brooklyn. She married the love of her life, Thomas R. Ferrara on August 28, 1965 in Brooklyn; Mr. Ferrara survives at home in Myrtle Beach. After they were married, Tom and Nancy Ferrara moved to Anaheim, California in 1965 and then to Wappingers Falls in 1968 where they would raise their family and make a home for over 40 years. Nancy worked for the Wappingers Central School District as a computer teaching assistant from 1987 until her retirement in 2010. In 2010, Tom and Nancy relocated to Myrtle Beach to enjoy their retirement together. Nancy was also a proud member of Beta Sigma Phi from 1965 until 2010. In addition to her husband Tom, Nancy is survived by her sons, John Vincent Ferrara and his wife, Amy of Poquoson, VA, and Michael Thomas Ferrara and his wife, Theresa Tribble of Somerville, MA; and her grandchildren, Ava, Merry and Victor. Family will receive their friends on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will be held during visitation at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Nancy's name to Hospice of Dutchess County, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
