Obituary of Florence Patricola

Florence E. Patricola of the Town of LaGrange entered into rest Tuesday, January 29, 2013. She was 81. Daughter of the late James and Amelia DeConcilus LaPenna, she was born on August 6, 1931 in Queens. She married the love of her life, August J. Patricola on October 16, 1954 in Queens; Mr. Patricola preceded her in death, passing on January 28, 1983. Mrs. Patricola worked as a special education teacher's aide at Dutchess County Boces in Poughkeepsie for 26 years, until her retirement. She was a parishioner of St. Martin de Porres Church in Poughkeepsie. There, she was a member of their Senior Center. She loved playing cards, especially canasta. She also enjoyed playing bingo. Florence loved cooking Italian food for her family and enjoyed eating it even more. She had a deep love for animals, especially her furry "grandbabies". In her spare time, she also enjoyed traveling and reading. Survivors include her daughters, Donna Elliot and her husband, Walter of Wappingers Falls, Lisa Mills and her husband, Richard of Quakertown, PA, Barbara Davis and her husband, Scott of Wappingers Falls and Nina Biuso and her husband, Lawrence of Fishkill; grandchildren, Daniel, Joshua, Ryan and Shane; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Mason and Bella; and many dear friends. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Road in Poughkeepsie.
