Obituary of Alice F. O'Dell

Alice F. O'Dell, a resident of Hyde Park and formerly of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Monday, January 21, 2013 at her home. She was 91. Daughter of the late Albert C. and Catherine Murry Bailey, she was born March 3, 1921 in Canaan, Connecticut. She married Clayton Russell O'Dell in May of 1945; Mr. O'Dell preceded her in death, passing on December 9, 1963. Prior to her retirement, Alice worked at Kemp and Beatley in Wappingers Falls. She was also an attendee of Faith Assembly of God in Poughkeepsie. Survivors include her companion, George Robert Wilson of Hyde Park, her daughters, April Scrivani and her husband, Ronald of Poughkeepsie, Phyllis Roger and her companion, John Boland of Milton, Julie Biktjorn of Wyoming, Priscilla Cole of Hyde Park and Alice VanVliet and her husband, Elmer "Butch" VanVliet of Hyde Park; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by several brothers and sisters, and her granddaughter, Tracey Lynn VanVliet. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Faith Assembly of God, 254 Spackenkill Road in Poughkeepsie.
