Obituary of Lorraine Agnes Scott

Lorraine Agnes Scott peacefully entered into heaven on January 5, 2013. She was born on December 2, 1933 in St. Louis, MO to the late Frederick B. and Anna C. Kemper. Lorraine's desire to help others led her to become a Registered Nurse; an occupation she worked and excelled in for over 30 years. She met her loving husband of 29 years, Leonard Scott while working in this capacity. Mr. Scott died on November 3, 1989. Following her retirement from nursing in 1987, Lorraine devoted her time to God, family and friends. She was a devout member of the Catholic Church and regularly attended services at St. Mary's Church in Fishkill. She was a member of a bible study group for many years and made many good friends. She was also a member of several local Bridge clubs and volunteered her time to teach reading as a literacy volunteer. Above all Lorraine was a woman devoted to her family and friends. She would always go out of her way to put the needs of others in front of her own. There was nothing she enjoyed more than a visit from family members or friends. Lorraine was the youngest of 7 brothers and sisters who all pre-deceased her. She is survived by her 3 children, Fred Scott and his wife Joan of Unionville, CT, Ann Charette of Churubusco, NY and Charles Scott and his wife Sondra of Pleasant Valley, NY. Lorraine had 6 grandchildren who all adored her, Dana Charette, Rebecca Pentalow, Arthur Charette, Hannah Charette, Nicholas Scott and Jack Scott and 2 great-grandchildren, Leonardo Pentalow and Amelia Pentalow. She also had many nieces, nephews and cousins that she was extremely fond of. Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls.
