Obituary of Janet B. Tollner

Janet B. Tollner, a two year resident of Poughkeepsie and formerly of Lakeville, Pennsylvania and Garden City, New York, entered into rest Friday, December 21, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 82. Daughter of the late August and Dorothy Nichol Ballereau, she was born November 9, 1930 in Queens. She married the love of her life, Robert Tollner on May 10, 1952. Mr. Tollner preceded her in death on November 10, 2008. Janet spent her time making a warm and loving home for her family. She was a former member of the Woodland Hills Association in Lakeville, PA. She enjoyed many hobbies in her spare time including, dancing, skiing, golf, tennis, swimming, sailing, as well as playing bridge. Survivors include her children, Susan Greenlee and her husband, Dan of Poughkeepsie, Lori Asfar and her husband, Tom of Garden City, Lynda Tollner and her husband, Dave Loeffler of Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, and Richard Tollner and his wife, Connie of Garden City; and her grandchildren, Alyson and Robert Greenlee, Jack and Sam Loeffler, Tommy and Steven Asfar, and Katie Tollner. Interment will be in the family plot in Maple Grove Cemetery, 127-15 Kew Gardens Road, Kew Gardens at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 24, 2012. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Janet's name to Alzheimer's Association, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601-4060.
