Obituary of Mildred P. Romanovsky

Mildred P. Romanovsky of Poughkeepsie entered into rest Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 92. Daughter of the late Michael and Mary Skurtovich, she was born on August 16, 1920 in Cicero, Illinois. She married the love of her life, Vladimir S. Romanovsky on August 26, 1939 at St. Margaret's Church in Yonkers; Mr. Romanovsky preceded her in death, passing on October 4, 1994. Mrs. Romanovsky spent her years making a warm and loving home for her family, whom she loved to cook for. She was also a member of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. Survivors include her son, William Romanovsky and his wife, Kathleen; grandchildren, Michael Romanovsky and his girlfriend, Shannon Fatum, and Mark Romanovsky and his wife, Audrey; and her great-granddaughter, Taylor. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sons, Ronald and Joseph. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 3 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in the family plot in Mount Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mildred's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
