Obituary of Ruben Morales-Santoni

Ruben Morales-Santoni, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Saturday, July 28, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie. He was 90. Son of the late Gregorio Morales and Longina Santoni, he was born July 2, 1922 in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico. He married the former Maria Rosa. Mrs. Morales-Santoni preceded him in death in 1979. Ruben proudly served his country during World War II and was stationed at Pearl Harbor when it came under attack. He was a former member of the Masons while living in Puerto Rico and was a member of the American Legion in Beacon. Ruben enjoyed fixing things and helping his family and neighbors any way he could. He is survived by his children, Maria DeLaCruz and her husband, Peter of Hopewell Junction, Carlos Morales-Santoni of the Bronx and Elodys Morales-Santoni of the Bronx; his siblings, Genarita Rodriguez of Puerto Rico, Ralph Morales-Santoni of the Bronx and Anna Velez of the Bronx; his grandchildren, Tanya Morales, Steven DeLaCruz and wife, Tracy, Tiffany DiPietro and husband, David, Ruben Morales and Daphne Morales; his numerous great-grandchildren; as well as his nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Family will receive friends on Monday, July 30, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls.
