Obituary of Mary I. Price

Mary I. Price, a resident of Fairport, New York and formerly of Chelsea, entered into rest Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Crest Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center in Fairport. She was 89. Daughter of the late Hector and Mary Lasher Coons, she was born December 8, 1922 in Tivoli. She married Edward H. Price on June 6, 1942 in Poughkeepsie. Mr. Price preceded her in death on April 4, 1977. Prior to her retirement in 1986, Mary was the Postmaster for the United States Postal Service in Chelsea. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Chelsea and a former member of the Chelsea Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her children, Linda A. Winterberg and her husband, James of New Bern, North Carolina and Bob Price and his wife, Colleen of Fairport; eight grandchildren, Scott, James, Jeffrey, and Kurt Winterberg, Joseph, Matthew, and Timothy Price and Dawn Marie McCracken as well as great-grandchildren, Collin, Zachary, Amanda, Alyssa, Jenna and Jackson Winterberg and Rohan and Benjamin Price. Family will receive friends Saturday, July 21, 2012 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 9 Liberty Street, Chelsea. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will then follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Fishkill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, PO Box 252, Chelsea, NY 12512 or the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons Street, East Syracuse NY 13057.
