Obituary of Rose Campbell

Rose (Carlozzi) Campbell, a resident of Wappingers Falls since 1965, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Daughter of the late Frances and Anible "Archie" Carlozzi, she was born in Brooklyn, New York. Rose was predeceased by the love of her life, Calvin Campbell in 2011. Rose stayed at home and raised her three precious daughters. She was a member of the "Nimble Thimbles" and the neighborhood sewing circle with her lifelong friends from Edgehill Drive in Wappingers Falls. She was a troop leader for the Girl Scouts. Noted for her warm smile and wonderful sense of humor, she will be missed by the many family and friends she leaves behind. Rose leaves behind her daughters, Linda Campbell Marconi and her husband, Joe of Torrington, CT, Susan Campbell Hundley and her husband, Chet of Hyde Park and Joanne Campbell Walsh and her husband, Matt of Trumbull, CT; her grandsons, Domenic and Alexander Marconi of Torrington, CT and Jon Walsh of Trumbull, CT and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Carlozzi and sister, Minnie Carlozzi. Family will receive their friends on Friday, June 22, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 23 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Entombment will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Avenue, Poughkeepsie. The family would like to thank Hospice of Dutchess County for their wonderful care given to Rose during her final few months. We would especially like to thank Melissa for her wonderful care and friendship to Rose.
