Obituary of Malcolm Watson
Malcolm Watson of Wappingers Falls received his reward on Friday, March 30, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. He was 74.
Son of the late Thomas and Lily Townsend Watson, he was born on December 11, 1937 in Leeds, England. He married Veronica Thackray on July 26, 1958 at Blenheim Baptist Church in Meanwood, Leeds, England; Mrs. Watson survives at home in Wappingers Falls.
Mr. Watson immigrated to the United States in the early 1960's with his family. He went on to work as an automotive facilities inspector for New York State until his retirement. In his spare time, he gave back to the community: he was a member of Tres Dias, he was involved in prison ministry, he helped teach truck drivers how to read and write, and he regularly donated blood. Mr. Watson was also a very active member of the United Methodist Church of Wappingers Falls. Most important to him was his family; he truly cherished the time they spent together.
In addition to his wife, Veronica of 53 years, he is survived by his children, David Christopher Watson and his wife, Lucy of Green Bay, WI, Martin Graham Watson and his wife, Rosemarie of Poughkeepsie, and Julie Larrain Sarah Levine and her husband, Craig of Wappingers Falls; brothers, Jack Watson and John Watson; sister, Sheila; grandchildren, Allyson, Christina, Jonathan, Christopher, Jeffrey, Nicholas, David, Rebekah, Eliana and Elesha; great-granddaughter, Zoey; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his grandson, Elijah.
