Obituary of Cherryl Teresa Rice

Cherryl Teresa Rice, an over twenty year resident of West Hurley and former resident of Brooklyn, entered into rest Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Wingate at Ulster in Highland. She was 64. Daughter of the late Frank and Claire Essex Rice, she was born December 18, 1947 in Brooklyn. Cherryl had worked for the Woodstock Elementary School as well as the Town of Hurley Parks and Recreation prior to her retirement. She loved gardening and reading. She is survived by her children, Anthony Maglio of Brooklyn, Jessica Butlin and her husband of Wappingers Falls and Joshua Choudhury of Santa Fe, New Mexico; her brothers, Frank Rice and his wife of Shippensberg, Pennsylvania and Ken Rice and his wife, of Peekskill; her grandchildren, Ethan Butlin, and Amy and Victoria Maglio; and her partner, Doug Howell. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 29 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls.
