Obituary of Robert Farley

Robert Farley, a resident of Fishkill, entered into rest Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie. He was 70. Son of Helen M. Farley of Wappingers Falls and the late Willard C. Farley, he was born May 23, 1941 in Poughkeepsie. Making the front page of the newspaper, he married the former Gay Smalley on July 22, 1988 in Poughkeepsie. He was a wonderful husband to Gay for the past twenty-three years. Mrs. Farley survives at home in Fishkill. Bob had worked as an assembler with Triangular Electronics in Poughkeepsie. He also worked various odd jobs throughout the years. Bob enjoyed bowling and was an avid walker. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his siblings, Joan Podloski of Florida, Willard Farley, Jr. of Beacon, Barbara Them of Poughkeepsie, Helen Christensen of Northville, NY and Betty Regg of Missouri; his sister-in-law, Gayle Johnson and her husband, Robert of Garrison as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. with Bishop Cahoon officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
