Obituary of Robert J. Rose

Robert J. Rose, 79, of Poughquag, passed away December 31, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. Robert was born on October 20, 1932 in Verplanck. He went on to serve four years in the United States Navy before marrying the former Jane Lee "Red" Cahill on August 3, 1957. Mrs. Rose survives at home in Poughquag. He is survived by his sons, Robert J. Rose and his wife, Colleen, Michael W. Rose and his wife, Donna, Stephen Rose and his wife, Patty; daughter, Mary Rose-Reedy and her husband, Paul; brother, William Rose and his wife, Mary Ann; sisters, Patricia Lesson and her husband, Walter and Frances Bleakley and her husband, Robert; his grandchildren, Michelle, Jeremy, Robert, Rebecca, Andrew, Matthew, Stephen, and Danny; two great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Theresa Sciveletto. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, January 4 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
