Obituary of Kathleen M. Carroll

Kathleen M. Carroll, a resident of Wappingers Falls and formerly of Yonkers, entered into rest Friday, December 2, 2011 at Wingate at Dutchess in Fiskill. She was 86 Daughter of the late Joseph and Kathleen Harrold O'Brien, she was born August 24, 1925 in Dublin, Ireland. On July 7, 1953 in Dublin she married John J. Carroll. Together they came to the United States in June of 1965. Mr. Carroll preceded her in death on May 12, 1995. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Carroll had worked at John Wannamaker's in Yonkers. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. Mrs. Carroll was also a member of the Kevin Barry Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Felipe and her husband, Richard of Wappingers Falls; her grandchildren, Denise Whitcomb and her husband, John of Poughkeepsie, Nicole Felipe and her fiancé, Erik Lynch of Wappingers Falls and Kimberly Felipe of Wappingers Falls; her great-grandchildren, J.R. Whitcomb, Summer Whitcomb and Addison Lynch. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Joseph O'Brien. Family will receive friends on Monday, December 5, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls, NY Memorial donations may be made to Wingate at Dutchess, 3 Summit Court, Fishkill, NY 12524.
