Obituary of Dominic Anthony Papesca

Dominic Anthony Papesca Dominic Anthony Papesca, a lifelong resident of the Town of Wappinger, entered into a peaceful rest at home on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. He was 30. Born January 20, 1981 at Butterfield Hospital in Cold Spring, he was the son of Michael F. and Josephine Sidote Papesca; his parents survive at home in Wappingers Falls. Dominic was a self employed contractor, sheetrock taper and finisher. As a youth, he played football for the Pop Warner Giants; he played with everything he had. He was part of the Pop Warner team that first played in Giants Stadium in New Jersey; it was the greatest event in his life. Dominic also enjoyed playing Little League baseball for the Wappinger Yankees. He liked making a day of fun at various paintball parks. He also enjoyed reading mystery novels, as well as collecting baseball and football cards. Dominic cherished spending time and playing board games with "the love of his life", his niece, Shaun Marie. He also enjoyed traveling nationally and internationally. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his niece, Shaun Marie Papesca; aunts and uncles, Rick Papesca and his wife, Joann, Dee Pellerin and her husband, Aaron, Joe Sidote and his partner Jamie Tompkins, Lou Papesca and his wife, Malsuk, Donna Marsh and her husband, Ed, and Rose LaPierre and her husband, Tom; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers, Jason Michael and Michael Vincent; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Josephine Sidote; and his paternal grandparents, Richard W. and Rose M. Papesca. Family will receive their friends on Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 18 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
