Violette Lillian Ruckert Violette Lillian Ruckert, 85, a resident of St. Simeon II in Poughkeepsie, New York died March 28, 2009 with her loving family by her side at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, New York. Daughter of the late George and Helen Cotter Schmidt, she was born April 22, 1923 in Tuckahoe, New York. Violette is survived by her loving daughters, Marie Kimberlin and her husband, John of Godeffroy, New York, Phyllis Fisher and her husband, Richard of Wappingers Falls, New York and Annette Ruckert of Wappingers Falls, New York; her most loving grandchildren, Dawn, Doreen, John, Bonny Sue, Jeffery, Joseph, Vickie and Daniel; her great-grandchildren, Jason, Alicia, Rickey, Alex, Tara, John Thomas, Madison, John, Michael, Marie, Donnie, Briana, Kayla, Shania, Connor, Casandra Rose, Joseph and Anthony; her sister, Helen Cade of Brewster, New York; her brother, Donald Schmidt of Daytona Beach, Florida; her sisters-in-law, Teresa, Barbara and Audrey; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard; her son, Richard and her brothers, William, Leonard, Peter and his wife, Peggy. Family will receive friends on Wednesday April 1, 2009 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, New York 12590. A funeral service will be held at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Her family would like to thank the wonderful people of St. Simeon II for making her life so special.
