Dear Family,
I am so sorry to hear about Daniel. He was the first person my husband and I met at the Museum. When Daniel's home was flooded, he stayed with us and through the three years of knowing Daniel, I always baked "a little extra" for him. When he went to stay with his mother in New Jersey I watched the house and when he was in Florida with his dad I also watched his home. Daniel was a very good friend to us and will be missed.
If there is anything at all that I can do as I live in Fort Plain and Daniel did show me where his "important" papers were kept, please feel free to call me at (518) 993-5074. I will be happy to do anything that I can.
On a brighter note: Daniel knew how much I loved roosters (my kitchen is full of them) and he gave me quite a few to add to my collection. He was truly a wonderful person and a true friend. I will miss his smile and laughter.
Our condolences to Daniel's family and friends from "Down State" as he would say.
Julie and Wayne Tucker

To Dan's family,
I write this note to extend my deepest condolences to you all. I was a friendly colleague of Dan back at Lakewood Appraisal in the 1990's until it closed in 2000. I lost touch with Dan after he moved to Fort Plain, but have fond memories of our time working together. I heard that he had gotten sick, but didn't realize the severity of illness. He was a good man and will be missed. May you all be comforted by knowing Dan is at peace in paradise. God Bless.

October by William Cullen Bryant
Ay, thou art welcome, heaven's delicious breath! When woods begin to wear the crimson leaf,
And suns grow meek, and the meek suns grow brief
And the year smiles as it draws near its death. Wind of the sunny south! oh, still delay
In the gay woods and in the golden air,
Like to a good old age released from care,
Journeying, in long serenity, away.
In such a bright, late quiet, would that I
Might wear out life like thee, 'mid bowers and brooks
And dearer yet, the sunshine of kind looks,
And music of kind voices ever nigh;
And when my last sand twinkled in the glass,
Pass silently from men, as thou dost pass.
