Obituary of Vincent G. Newland

Vincent G. Newland Vincent G. Newland of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Thursday, May 22, 2008 at his residence. He was 47. Son of H. Vincent and Rose Crispino Newland, he was born on March 12, 1961 in Rhinebeck; his parents survive in Red Hook. He married the former Susan J. Blackmar on June 9, 1984 in Pine Plains; Mrs. Newland survives at home in Wappingers Falls. Vincent worked as an electrician for P & D Electric in Beacon; he was very proud of his job and loved to work in his skill. In his spare time, he loved working around the house, whether it was building a garage or working on the landscape, he loved it all. Most of all, he loved his family; he will be greatly missed by them all. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wappingers Falls. In addition to his wife, Susan and his parents, Vincent and Rose, he is survived by his sons, Vincent Newland and Nathan A. Newland, both at home; his sisters, Paula VanLeuven and her husband, Joe of Watervliet, and Debbie Rosado and her husband, Gary of Glasco; father-in-law, Allan Blackmar; brother-in-law, Ken Blackmar and his wife, Marva; nieces, Cassandra, Gabriela, Yvonne, Danielle, Charlene and Erin; nephews, Michael and David; grand-niece, Lilly; and grand-nephews, Scott and Ryan. Family will receive their friends on Sunday, May 25, 2008 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 28 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Wappingers Falls, South Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Vincent's name to the First Presbyterian Church, 40 South Avenue, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
