Obituary of Juan G. Rodriguez

Juan G. Rodriguez, 89, of Fishkill entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 28th, 2015, with his family by his side at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, New York. He was born to the late Domingo Acosta and Petronila Rodriguez on June 12th, 1925 in Santiago, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He was the beloved husband of Aura Estella Martinez for 69 years. Mrs. Rodriguez survives at their home in Fishkill. Mr. Rodriguez was self-employed as a watch repairman for many years, until his retirement. He enjoyed horse racing and had a great love for sports, especially baseball. Mr. Rodriguez was an avid fan of the Dodgers and Red Sox in the United States and Tigres del Licey in Dominican Republic. He is also survived by his 9 children, Altagracia Cruz, Egberto Rodriguez, Miguel Angel Rodriguez, Alfredo F. Rodriguez, Beatriz Fornells, Juan G. Rodriguez Jr., Persio A. Rodriguez, Joanny Marin and Andria Felix; 17 grandchildren, Liza Cruz, Elias Rodriguez, Cynthia Cruz, Michael Rodriguez, Jennifer Rodriguez, Melissa Rodriguez, Jose Cruz Jr., Jonathan Rodriguez, Jeanine Rodriguez, Ashley Fornells, Nicholas Fornells, Chiqui Felix, Gabe Felix, Andrew Marin, Kayla Marin, Natalie Rodriguez and Miguel Rodriguez Jr.; 10 great-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 30th, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 31st at 8:30 AM at the funeral home; Father James Cruz will be officiating. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9 in Fishkill.
